In January – August 2017, Russian seaports handled 517.25 mln t of cargo (+10.4%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 239.9 mln t (+9.9%) including:
102.7 mln t of coal (+15%),
31.6 mln t of containerized cargo (+13.5%),
25.3 mln t of grain (+23.2%),
18.7 mln t of ferrous metal (-1.5%),
11.2 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+6.2%),
2 mln t refrigerated cargo (-0.3%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 10.8% to 277.3 mln t including:
169.9 mln t of crude oil (+16%),
95.1 mln t of oil products (+2.2%),
9.4 mln t of liquefied gas (+10.1%).
Export totaled cargo handled 399.4 mln t (+7.5%), imports – 24 mln t (+17.1%), transit – 38.4 mln t (+18.3%), short-sea shipping – 55.2 mln t (+25.5%).
Total container turnover of Russian seaports for 8 month of 2017 increased by 16.4% year-on-year to 3.04 mln TEU, including imports — 1.3 mln TEU (+18%), export – 1.27 mln TEU (+17.3%), short-sea traffic — 436.66 thou TEU (+9%), transit — 41.52 thou TEU (+26.6%).
In reporting period refrigerated containers handled 300.02 thou TEU of which import – 235.84 thou TEU, short-sea shipping – 39.03 thou TEU, export – 25.11 thou TEU.
Basin specification:
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 48.7 mln t of cargo (+62.2%, year-on-year) including 29.68 mln t of liquid bilk cargo (up in 2.4 times) and 19.09 mln t of dry cargo (+8.8%). Throughput of port of Murmansk amounted 34.3 mln t (+71.2%), Varandei – 5.81 mln t (+8%), Sabetta – 4.78 mln t (up in 4.3 times), Arkhangelsk – 1.56 mln t (-19.6%), Dudinka – 0.82 mln t (+5.8%), Kandalaksha – 0.93 mln t (up in 2.4 times).
Container turnover in ports of Arctic Basin in reporting period up 1.6% to 92.34 thou TEU, from which is the main part it’s a short-sea shipping – 90.6 thou TEU (+2.3%), export – 0.6 thou TEU, import – 1.16 thou TEU. The volume of transshipment of refrigerated containers amounted 2.85 thou TEU. Container turnover in port of Murmansk in reporting period amounted 27.44 thou TEU (+3.3%), Dudinka – 34.87 thou TEU (+5.1%), Arkhangelsk – 24.04 thou TEU (+3.9%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin for 8 month handled 164.63 mln t (+5.9%) including 68.32 mln t of dry cargo (+17.3%) and 96.31 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-0.9%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 67.5 mln t (+12%), Primorsk – 40.1 mln t (-7.4%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 35.3 mln t (+10.6%), Vysotsk – 11.7 mln t (+4.4%).
The container turnover in Jan-Aug 2017 in ports of Baltic Basin increased by 11.4% to 1.49 mln TEU, including loaded export – 482.4 thou TEU, empty export – 248.5 thou TEU (+27.3%), import – 760.4 thou TEU (+10.8%), short-sea shipping – 1 TEU (-99%). Container turnover of Big Port St. Petersburg up 9.9% to 1.28 mln TEU, port of Ust-Luga – 49.3 thou TEU (-8.2%), Kaliningrad – 164.6 thou TEU (+34.8%).
For Jan-Aug of 2017 seaports of Azov – Black Sea Basin handled 172.3 mln t (+9.1) including 72 mln t of dry cargo (+6.5%) and 100.3 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+11%). Increased the volume of cargo handling operators of port of Novorossiysk to 96.7 mln t (+12.7%), Tuapse – 17.8 mln t (+6.3%), Kavkaz – 21.5 mln t (+4.4%), Taman – 9.9 mln t (+16.8%), Rostov-on-Don – 8.8 mln t (+4.4%), Kerch – 5.6 mln t (-9.5%), Azov – 4.19 mln t (+1%).
Container turnover in ports of Azov – Black Sea basin amounted 499.25 thou TEU (+16.4%), including export – 250.81 thou TEU (+18.1%), import – 238.69 thou TEU (+15%), short-sea shipping – 9.23 thou TEU (+4.7%), transit – 0.64 thou TEU (up to 3.4 times). The reefer container handled 75.8 thou TEU which of in import direction – 74.6 thou TEU, in export direction – 1.16 thou TEU. Container turnover in port of Novorossiysk up to 489.33 thou TEU (+16.8%), Azov – 4.82 thou TEU (+21.8%), Sevastopol – 4.39 thou TEU (+0.6%), Kavkaz – 0.66 thou TEU, Rostov-on-Don – 0.05 thou TEU (-94.1%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 2.4 mln t of cargo (-36) including 1.7 mln t of dry cargo (-6.1%) and 0.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-64.1%). Throughput of port of Makhachkala down 60.6% to 0.8 mln t, Astrakhan to 1.4 mln t (-6.4%), Olya port – 138 thou t (+39%).
Container turnover of the Caspian Basin in January – August 2017 amounted 1.59 thou TEU (+18.4%), including export – 683 TEU (+18), import – 636 TEU (+19.3%), short-sea shipping – 274 TEU (+17.6%).
The ports of Far East Basin up to 129.1 mln t (+6.3%) including 78.8 mln t of dry cargoes (+7.7%) and 50.3 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+4.1%). Port Vostochny handled 46.2 mln t (+3.3%), Vanino – 19.9 mln t (-0.5%), Nakhodka – 16.3 mln t (+5.3%), Prigorodnoye – 11.2 mln t (+8.5%), Vladivostok – 11 mln t (+19%), De-Castri – 8.2 mln t (-9.9%), Posiet – 5.1 mln t (+3.5%).
The Far East Basin ports container throughput in reporting period increased by 27.6% to 959.44 thou TEU, including loading export – 142.7 thou TEU (+22.4%), empty export – 140.8 thou TEU (47.1%), import – 298.5 thou TEU (+46.1%), transit – 40.9 thou TEU (+25.4%), short-sea shipping – 336.6 thou TEU (+11.2%).
