In January-November 2016, Russian seaports handled 657.7 mln t of cargo (+6.4%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 306.7 mln t (+7.9%) including:
124.6 mln t of coal (+11.1%),
38.9 mln t of containerized cargo (+6.6%),
26 mln t of ferrous metal (+6.7%),
32.2 mln t of grain (+4.6%),
20.8 mln t of cargo carried by ferries (+4.7%),
7.9 mln t of ore (+ 27.3%),
5 mln t of timber (+2.9%),
4.1 mln t of ro-ro cargo (up 1.8 times),
14.6 mln t of chemical fertilizers (+0.4%),
3.7 mln t of scrap-metal (-1.9%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 5.2% to 351 mln t including
207.5 mln t of crude oil (+12.2%),
127.8 mln t of oil products (-4.4%)
12.3 mln t of liquefied gas (+5%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 517.4 mln t (+5.3%), import – 28.8 mln t (-5.5%), transit – 46.1 mln t (+5%), coastal trade cargo – 65.4 mln t (+25.6%).
Total container turnover in Russian seaports in January – November of 2016 increased by 1% year-on-year to 3.63 mln TEU, including total export 1.49 mln TEU (-0.9%), import — 1,52 mln TEU (+1,6%), transit — 45.17 thou TEU (-29.1%), cabotage — 582.45 thou TEU (+8.1 %).

Russian Railways (RZD) in cooperation with SWIFT Transport International Logistic Co. has launched the first container train from China to the European part of Russia, via Mongolia.

Regular weekly Container Block Train “Ust-Luga Express” was launched on October 26, 2013. Since the beginning of this year, “Ust-Luga Express” has done 120 voyages, which is 30% more compared from the same period of 2015.

The first transit container train running by the international transport corridor Primorje-1 has been dispatched today, 30 September 2016, from the border railway station Grodekovo, says press center of Russian Railways OJSC. Primorje-1 links Chinese province Heilongjiang with the ports of the Primorsk Territory.
The first rail shuttle between China and the Netherlands has been launched. The service was launched by the Chinese rail operator CDiRS in June, and now the Chengdu-Tilburg-Rotterdam-Express is in full operation, the Port of Rotterdam Authority said in a media release. At the moment, this is a weekly service, however, the ambition of CDiRS and its Dutch partner, RailPortbrabant, part of the GVT Group, is to run the service five times a week as of late next year.
The 3th of September, 2016 the «Navigator FORWARDING» LLC company together with the “Port Express” company provided the first container train dispatch from the station Avtovo (Container terminal Saint-Petersburg) to Vorsino station (multimodal transport & logistics center of federal format “Freight Village Vorsino”). Forty-six 40’ loaded containers were transported. Remarkable fact is that the transportation was carried out in the customs transit regime, upon arrival of a container train at the Vorsino station, containers were placed in a zone of the customs control of customs posts Obninsk, Kaluga Customs (WTS “CCF North” LLC), which is a part of the Multimodal Complex Freight Village Vorsino.
