Loading data review on Russian Railways network for 2017 year

import, export, transit by rail - Navigator LOGISTICAccording to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways for whole 2017 year loaded 1.26 bn t of freight, which is 3.2% more than in the same period last year, including 110.2 mln t (+4.8%) which is loaded in December.

Freight turnover for whole 2017 year amounted 2.49 trln tariff ton-km (+6.4%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 3.17 trln tariff ton-km (+6%).
For December 2017 freight turnover amounted 219 bn tariff ton-km (+5%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 278.8 bn ton-km (+4.4%).

In Jan-Dec’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:

358.5 mln t of coal (+9.1%, y-o-y);
235.5 mln t of crude and oil products (-0.2);
132.9 mln t of construction materials (-5.7%);
110.5 mln t of iron and manganese ores (+0.9%);
73 mln t of ferrous metal (+2.8%);
57.1 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+6.8%);
43.3 mln t of timber (+2.5%);
36.5 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+4.3%);
26.8 mln t of cement (+0.6%);
26.1 mln t of chemicals and soda (+1.7%);
22.1 mln t of grain (+16.4%);
20.2 mln t of non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-4.1%);
15.7 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+4.8%);
11.2 mln t of coke (-4.7%).

The container transportation on the Russian Railways network for 2017 year amounted 3.8 mln TEU (+18.9%), which is 37.4 mln ton by weight (+17.8% y-o-y). Including:
Export direction – 986.4 thou TEU (+20.1%);
Import – 707.8 thou TEU (+33.2%);
Transit – 417.3 thou TEU (up in 1.6 times);
Internal – 1.8 mln TEU (+7.4%).

Proportion of loaded container from whole volume was 67.5% (2.63 mln TEU +22.7% y-o-y), empty – 32.5% (1.26 mln TEU +9.5%).

For 12 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railways carried 1.11 bn passengers (+7.8% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 1.02 bn (+8.5%), long-distance passengers – 102.3 mln (+0.8%). For December Russian Railway’s network carried 92.3 mln passengers (+4.1%), which of suburban – 84.4 mln passengers (+3.7%), long-distance – 7.9 mln (+8.5%).

Passenger turnover for whole 2017 year amounted 122.8 bn passenger-km (-1.4% y-o-y), which of for December – 8.7 bn passenger-km (+2.9%).
