Throughput of Russian seaports up 3.0% to 608.9 mln t in 11M’15In January-November 2015, Russian seaports handled 608.9 mln t of cargo (+3.0%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 276.0 mln t (+1.1%) including 112.1 mln t of coal (+4.2%), 27.8 mln t of grain (+1.9%), 24.4 mln t of ferrous metal (+13.9%), 14.7 mln t of cargo carried by ferries (up 1.5 times), 14.5 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+6.7%), 6.2 mln t of ore (+7.7%), 4.8 mln t of forest cargo (+10.2%)  and 3.3 mln t of non-ferrous metal (+12.4%). Transshipment of containerized cargo fell to 36.6 mln t (-15.2%), metal scrap – to 3.8 mln t (-12.6%), refrigerated cargo – to 2.8 mln t (-14.4%).

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 332.9 mln t (+4.6%) including 185.0 mln t of crude oil (+6.5%), 133.1 mln t of oil products (+2.4%) and 11.7 mln t of liquefied gas (+5.1%).

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 488.1 mln t (+ 5.5%), import cargo – 30.4 mln t (-24.4%), transit cargo – 43.9 mln t (+0.5%), coastal trade cargo – 46.5 mln t (+3.8%).

Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 32.5 mln t (-0.3%, year-on-year) including 22.8 mln t of dry cargo (-3.2%) and 9.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+7.5%). The port of Murmansk handled 20.1 mln t (-1.1%), Arkhangelsk – 3.6 mln t (-7.2%), Varandei – 6.0 mln t (+10.5%).

The ports of the Baltic Basin handled  210.7 mln t (+1.9%) including 80.0 mln t of dry cargo (-3.1%), 130.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+5.3%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 80.5 mln t (+15.7%), Primorsk – 54.3 mln t (+7.9%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 47.1 mln t (-16.7%), Vysotsk – 16.0 mln t (-1.4%), Kaliningrad – 11.6 mln t (-8.9%).

Throughput of Azov – Black Sea ports climbed to  203.7 mln t (+4.4%) including 80.9 mln t of dry bulk cargo (+9.2%) and 122.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+1.5%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 116.2 mln t (+3.7%), Tuapse – 23.2 mln t (+13.0%), Taman – 10.7 mln t (+14.8%), Rostov – 10.5 mln t (+9.4%), Azov – 6.3 mln t (+1.7%), Temryuk – 2.3 mln t (+25.9%), Kavkaz – 19.8 mln t (-21.6%), Yeisk – 3.5 mln t (-5.9%). Seaports of Crimea handled 8.4 mln to d cargo including 6.9 mln t handled in Kerch.

The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 6.2 mln t грузов (-14.4%) including 2.8 mln t of dry bulk cargo (-10.2%) and 3.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-17.7%). Throughput of port Makhachkala fell by 21.9% to 3.6 mln t, port Olya – by 15.8%. Throughput of port Astrakhan remained flat at the level of January-November 2014 – 2.4 mln t.

The ports of Far East Basin handled 155.9 mln t (+4.1%) including 89.5 mln t of dry bulk cargo (-0.3%) and 66.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+10.7%). Port Vostochny handled 59.4 mln t (+11.4%), Vanino – 24.4 mln t (+1.4%), Nakhodka – 19.4 mln t (+0.6%), De-Castri – 9.5 mln t (+29.5%), Prigorodnoye – 14.5 mln t (-0.5%), Vladivostok – 11.8 mln t (-17.4%), Posiet – 5.8 mln t (-5.8%).

Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
