Throughput of Russian seaports review in Jan-Apr 2017In January – April 2017, Russian seaports handled 250.3 mln t of cargo (+10.9%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 110.9 mln t (+10%) including:
47.3 mln t of coal (+18.8%),
15.2 mln t of containerized cargo (+11.9%),
11.5 mln t of grain (+18.9%),
9.6 mln t of ferrous metal (-1.9%),
5.5 mln t of chemical fertilizers (+6.3%),
1 mln t refer cargo (+0.5%).

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargoes increased by 11.6% to 139.4 mln t including
89.5 mln t of crude oil (+14.6%),
47.3 mln t of oil products (+6.2%),
5 mln t of liquefied gas (+12.6%).

Transshipment of export cargo amounted 197.1 mln t (+7.8%), import – 10.9 mln t (+9%), transit – 18.5 mln t (+12.7%), cabotage – 23.7 mln t (+44.4%).

Total container throughput of Russian seaports in January-April of 2017 increased by 12% year-on-year to 1.44 mln TEU, including import — 620.3 thou TEU (+14.4%), export 608.37 thou TEU (+10.7%), transit — 14.29 thou TEU (-13.1%), cabotage — 200.64 thou TEU (+11.3%).

Basin specification:

Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 22.5 mln t of cargo (+65.4%, year-on-year) including 8.3 mln t of dry cargo (+1.7%) and 14.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+61.8%). The port of Murmansk handled 16.4 mln t (+82%), Varandei – 2.9 mln t (+15.6%), Sabetta – 1.64 mln t (up in 4.3 times), Arkhangelsk – 0.7 mln t (-34.6%), Dudinka – 0.43 mln t (-1.3%), Kandalaksha – 0.33 mln t (up in 2.7 times). Container throughput of ports of Arctic Basin in reporting period down 0.8% to 47.8 thou TEU, including cabotage – 47.29 thou TEU (+2.6%), import – 0.006% from whole volume of container turnover of basin and 0.4% – export. Container turnover in port of Murmansk in January – April 2017 amounted 16.71 thou TEU (+3.4%), Dudinka – 18.82 thou TEU (-2.9%), Arkhangelsk – 12.27 thou TEU (-1.6%).

The ports of the Baltic Basin for 4 month handled 82.8 mln t (+7.4%) including 31.7 mln t of dry cargo (+13%) and 51.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+4.3%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 33 mln t (+9.5%), Primorsk – 22.2 mln t (+4%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 16.8 mln t (+6.5%), Vysotsk – 6.2 mln t (+14.9%), Kaliningrad – 4.27 mln t (+4%), Viborg – 0.341 mln t (+13%).
The container turnover in reporting period in ports of Baltic Basin increased by 7.2% to 719 thou TEU, including laden export – 238.7 thou TEU (+5%), empty export – 111.9 thou TEU (+7.1%), import – 368.4 thou TEU (+8.7%). Container turnover of Big Port St. Petersburg up 6.4% to 623.6 thou TEU, port of Ust-Luga – 25.3 thou TEU (-3.1%), Kaliningrad – 70.1 thou TEU (+19.8%).

For 4 month of 2017 throughput of cargoes in port of Azov – Black Sea basin amounted 80.7 mln t (+8.5%) including 32.5 mln t of dry cargo (+8.6%) and 48.2 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+8.5%). Increased the volume of cargo handling operators of port of Novorossiysk – 48 mln t (+6.7%), Tuapse – 8.8 mln t (+8%), Kavkaz – 6.6 mln t (+14%), Taman – 5.2 mln t (+27.2%), Rostov-on-Don – 3.8 mln t (+9.1%), Kerch – 2.9 mln t (+15.8%), Azov – 2.2 mln t (+6.3%).
Container turnover in ports of Azov – Black Sea basin amounted 250.97 thou TEU (+8.9%), including export – 125.09 thou TEU (+7.9%), import – 121.77 thou TEU (+10.1%), transit – 0.23 thou TEU (up to 2.5 times), cabotage – 3.88 thou TEU (+2.2%). Container throughput of port of Novorossiysk amounted 246.51 thou TEU (+9.3%), Azof – 2.39 thou TEU (+35.4%), Sevastopol port – 1.91 thou TEU (+4%), Kavkaz – 0.11 thou TEU, Rostov-on-Don – 0.05 thou TEU (-88.9%).

The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 1.1 mln t of cargoes (-48.4) including 0.8 mln t dry cargoes (-28.1%) and 0.3 mln t of liquid bulk cargoes (-70.5%). Throughput of port of Makhachkala down 73.7 % to 0.3 mln t, Astrakhan to 0.7 mln t (-17.6%), Olya port – 53.1 thou t (-19%).
Container throughput of the Caspian Basin in January – April 2017 amounted 837 TEU (+12.4%), including laden export – 317 TEU (+56.2%), empty export – 36 TEU (-78.7%), import – 328 TEU (+27.6%), cabotage – 155 TEU (+34.8%). The Astrakhan ports container throughput increased by 14.5% to 836 TEU.
The ports of Far East Basin amounted 63.1 mln t (+8%) including 37.5 mln t of dry cargoes (+12.1%) and 25.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.6%). Port Vostochny handled 23.3 mln t (+9.3%), Vanino – 9.8 mln t (+1.2%), Nakhodka – 8.2 mln t (+7.8%), Prigorodnoye – 6.1 mln t (+11.8%), Vladivostok – 5.3 mln t (+17.8%), De-Castri – 4 mln t (-2.1%), Posiet – 2.7 mln t (-1.1%).

The Far East Basin ports container throughput in firs 4 month of 2017 increased by 25.5% to 425.01 thou TEU, including laden export – 71.9 thou TEU (+32.1%), empty export – 60.2 thou TEU (+29.7%), import – 129.5 thou TEU (+41.8%), transit – 14.1 thou TEU (-14%), cabotage – 149.3 thou TEU (+14.7%). Container turnover of port of Vladivostok in reporting period amounted 233.8 thou TEU (+32.1%), Port Vostochny – 110.9 thou TEU (+20.4%), Korsakov port – 38.7 thou TEU (+21%).
