In January-September 2016, Russian seaports handled 531.7 mln t of cargo (+5.7%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 248.7 mln t (+7.8%) including:
101.9 mln t of coal (+12%),
31.4 mln t of containerized cargo (+4.8%),
21.5 mln t of ferrous metal (+8.5%),
24.3 mln t of grain (+2.1%),
17.1 mln t of cargo carried by ferries (+3.6%),
6.5 mln t of ore (+ 30.6%),
4.1 mln t of timber (+2.5%),
3.9 mln t of ro-ro cargo (up 1.8 times).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 3.9% to 283 mln t including
162.9 mln t of crude oil (+8.5%),
107.8 mln t of oil products (-2.4%)
9.7 mln t of liquefied gas (+3.5%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 420.4 mln t (+5.2%), import – 23.4 mln t (-6.1%), transit – 36.3 mln t (+0.5%), coastal trade cargo – 51.6 mln t (+21.4%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 34.8 mln t of cargo (+31.8%, year-on-year) including 19.8 mln t of dry cargo (+8.5%) and 15 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (up 1.8 times). The port of Murmansk handled 23.1 mln t (+42.2%), Varandei – 6 mln t (+22.1%), Arkhangelsk – 2.1 mln t (-28.4), Kandalaksha – 0.5 mln t (-21.5%). Container turnover in reporting period up 10.4% to 107.8 thou TEU, including loaded export – 471 TEU (-75.9%), empty – 3.3 thou TEU (up 4.7 times), import – 3.7 thou TEU (+2.4%), coastal trade cargo – 100.4 thou TEU (+9.8%). Container throughput of Murmansk port amounted 31.6 thou TEU (+21%), Dudinka port – 40.9 thou TEU (+0.5%), Arkhangelsk – 26.5 thou TEU (+20.6%)
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 174.9 mln t (+1.9%) including 66 mln t of dry cargo (+0.9%) and 108.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.6%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 68.5 mln t (+5.3%), Primorsk – 48.3 mln t (+10.5%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 35.9 mln t (-7.7%), Kaliningrad – 8.7 mln t (-8.9%), Vysotsk – 12.5 mln t (-5,2%). The container throughput in the Big Port St. Petersburg increased by 0.7% to 1.3 mln TEU, port of Ust-Luga – 61.8 thou TEU (-5.7%), Kaliningrad – 140.3 thou TEU (+11.4%).
Throughput of Azov – Black Sea ports climbed to 179.7 mln t (+3.9%) including 77.5 mln t of dry cargo (+8.7%) and 102.2 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+0.6%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 96.7 mln t (+2.1%), Kavkaz – 24.5 mln t (+3.1%), Taman – 9.5 mln t (+9.2%), Rostov-on-Don – 9.7 mln t (+21.7%), Kerch – 7.1 mln t (+31.6%), Azov – 4.8 mln t (-2.7%), Yeisk – 3 mln t (+8.3%), Tuapse – 18.7 mln t (-1.5%), Temryuk – 2.2 mln t (+19.2%), Taganrog – 1.7 mln t (-22.6%). Container turnover in the port of Azov – Black Sea amounted 466.8 thou TEU (+1.7%) including loaded export – 138.7 thou TEU (+27.2%), empty export – 98 thou TEU (-17.3%), import – 219.9 thou TEU (-0.6%), transit – 200 TEU (-28.4%), coastal trade cargo – 10.1 thou TEU (+3.4%). Container throughput of port of Novorossiysk in 9 month of 2016 amounted 455.8 thou TEU (+2.9%), Azov – 4.4 thou TEU (-22.2%), Sevastopol – 5.1 thou TEU (+4.6%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 4.3 mln t of cargo (-15.9%) including 2.2 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-11.5%) and 2.1 mln t of dry cargo (-9.3%). The port of Makhachkala handled 2.4 mln t (-19.4%), Astrakhan – 1.8 mln t (-9.3%), Olya – down 29.6%. Container throughput fell by 28.9% to 1.499 thou TEU, including loaded export – 434 TEU (+11.6%), empty export – 218 TEU (-41.2%), import – 584 TEU (-24.8%), coastal trade cargo – 263 TEU (-53.9%). Container throughput of Astrakhan port amounted 1.478 thou TEU (-18.2%), Olya – 4 TEU (-97.7%), Makhachkala – 17 TEU (-86.5%).
The ports of Far East Basin handled 137.9 mln t (+8.5%) including 83.2 mln t of dry cargo (+13.7%) and 54.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+1.5%). Port Vostochny handled 51 mln t (+4.5%), Vanino – 22.7 mln t (+13.8%), Nakhodka – 17.4 mln t (+10.2%), Vladivostok – 10.5 mln t (+10.5%), De-Castri – 8.5 mln t (+13.1%), Posiet –6 mln t (+26.8%), Prigorodnoye – 11.6 mln t (-0.8%). Container thoughput in the ports of far East Basin decreased by 5.9% to 859 thou TEU, including loaded export – 131.3 thou TEU (+6.9%), empty export – 110.5 thou TEU (-26.3%), import – 234.9 thou TEU, transit – 34.7 thou TEU (-37.7%), coastal trade cargo – 347.7 thou TEU (+6.2%). Container turnover of Vladivostok – 220.4 thou TEU (-19.2%), Korsakov – 83.3 thou TEU (+29.1%).
Total container turnover in Russian seaports in January – September of 2016 decreased by 0.5% year-on-year to 2.9 million TEU, including loaded export 785,5 thou TEU (+12.6%), empty export – 430 thou TEU (-21%), import — 1,2 mln TEU (+0,2%), transit — 34.9 thou TEU (-37.6%), cabotage — 458.6 thou TEU (+6.9 %)
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
