In January-October 2016, Russian seaports handled 594.2 mln t of cargo (+5.7%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 277.7 mln t (+7.6%) including:
113.5 mln t of coal (+11.9%),
35.2 mln t of containerized cargo (+6.1%),
23.7 mln t of ferrous metal (+7.3%),
28.2 mln t of grain (+1.6%),
18.9 mln t of cargo carried by ferries (+3.3%),
7.2 mln t of ore (+ 30.2%),
4.5 mln t of timber (+3.0%),
3.7 mln t of ro-ro cargo (up 1.8 times),
13.2 mln t of chemical fertilizers (-0.2%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 4.1% to 316.5 mln t including
187.1 mln t of crude oil (+11.6%),
115.4 mln t of oil products (-6.1%)
11 mln t of liquefied gas (+4.6%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 468.4 mln t (+5%), import – 26 mln t (-2.9%), transit – 41.3 mln t (+4.2%), coastal trade cargo – 58.5 mln t (+22.6%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 40 mln t of cargo (+35.7%, year-on-year) including 22.1 mln t of dry cargo (+7.8%) and 17.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (up 2 times). The port of Murmansk handled 26.6 mln t (+47.1%), Varandei – 6.7 mln t (+22.3%), Dudinka – 1 mln t (+1.8%), Arkhangelsk – 2.3 mln t (-30%), Kandalaksha – 0.6 mln t (-13%). Container turnover in ports of Arctic Basin in reporting period up 10.8% to 124.59 thou TEU.
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 195.6 mln t (+2%) including 73.9 mln t of dry cargo (+1.2%) and 121.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.4%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 76.7 mln t (+5%), Primorsk – 54 mln t (+10.6%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 40 mln t (-7.3%), Kaliningrad – 9.7 mln t (-9.4%), Vysotsk – 14 mln t (-4.9%), Viborg – 1.1 mln t (-14.9%). The container throughput in ports of Baltic Basin increased by 1.3% to 1.68 mln TEU.
Throughput of Azov – Black Sea ports climbed to 199.7 mln t (+3.3%) including 86.6 mln t of dry cargo (+7%) and 113.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+0.5%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 107.6 mln t (+2.2%), Kavkaz – 27.1 mln t (+1.1%), Taman – 10.8 mln t (+11.5%), Rostov-on-Don – 10.9 mln t (+16.4%), Kerch – 7.9 mln t (+28.9%), Yeisk – 3.4 mln t (+10.2%), Temryuk – 2.2 mln t (+19.2%). Decreased throughput in ports of Tuapse – 20.6 mln t (-3%), Azov – 5.4 mln t (-5.6%), Taganrog – 1.9 mln t (-20.8%). Container turnover in the ports of Azov – Black Sea amounted 508.37 thou TEU (+1.9%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 4.9 mln t of cargo (-13%) including 2.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-20.6%) and 2.5 mln t of dry cargo (-3.9%). The port of Makhachkala handled 2.7 mln t (-16.8%), Astrakhan – 2 mln t (-6.6%), Olya – down 19.8%. Container throughput fell by 27.3% to 1.7 thou TEU.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 153.9 mln t (+8.6%) including 92.6 mln t of dry cargo (+14%) and 61.3 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+1.4%). Port Vostochny handled 56.9 mln t (+5.52%), Vanino – 25 mln t (+12.6%), Nakhodka – 19.5 mln t (+9.9%), Prigorodnoye – 13.3 mln t (-0.7%), Vladivostok – 11.8 mln t (+11.3%), De-Castri – 9.6 mln t (+11.5%), Posiet –6.8 mln t (+27.4%). Container thoughput in the ports of far East Basin decreased by 3.7% to 970.28 thou TEU.
Total container turnover in Russian seaports in January – Octobert of 2016 increased by 0.2% year-on-year to 3.28 million TEU, including total export 1.35 mln TEU (-1.5%)(empty export fell by 21.1%), import — 1,37 mln TEU (+0,7%), transit — 37.51 thou TEU (-37.3%), cabotage — 520.07 thou TEU (+7.9 %)
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
