Global Ports Investments PLC appoints Vladislav Baumgertner as Chief Executive OfficerGlobal Ports Investments PLC announces the appointment of Vladislav Baumgertner as Chief Executive Officer effective from today, August 17. He succeeds Alexander Nazarchuk who has decided to step down from the role but will continue to serve on the Board of Global Ports as a Non-Executive Director.

Vladislav Baumgertner has extensive experience of successfully developing and managing large industry-leading businesses with a strong international focus. As CEO of Uralkali, and a key member of the management team for a decade from 2003, Vladislav Baumgertner oversaw the company’s transformation into the world’s largest potash producer, as well as its listing on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.

Together with this team, he has significantly improved the Group’s efficiency, introduced best-in-class corporate governance standards and led Global Ports to its successful IPO on the London market in 2011. Global Ports Investments PLC is the leading operator of container terminals in the Russian market.

Global Ports’ terminals are located in the Baltic and Far East Basins, key regions for foreign trade cargo flows. Global Ports operates five container terminals in Russia (Petrolesport, First Container Terminal, Ust-Luga Container Terminal and Moby Dik in the Russian Baltics, and Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company in the Russian Far East) and two container terminals in Finland3 (Multi-Link Terminals Helsinki and Multi-Link Terminals Kotka). Global Ports also owns inland container terminals Yanino Logistics Park and Logistika-Terminal, both located in the vicinity of St. Petersburg, and has a 50% stake in the major oil product terminal AS Vopak E.O.S. in Estonia.
