Container block train service “Ust-Luga Express” celebrates 2-year anniversary

On 26^th of October, 2015 was 2 years since the start of “Ust-Luga Express”, fast container block train running between Ust-Luga and Moscow with fixed weekly schedule. Ust-Luga Express regularly departs from port of Ust-Luga (terminal ULCT or Yug-2) to Moscow (terminal “Freight Village Vorsino”) twice a week – every Saturday and Tuesday at 2:44 PM.

Container block train service “Ust-Luga Express” is attractive first of all because of low and fixed price of cargo delivery from port of Ust-Luga to Moscow. Among the advantages of the service are also fixed time of delivery, the possibility of simultaneous delivery for orders up to 124 TEU, delivery of goods in customs transit, and independence of the seasonal fluctuations of supply and demand.

The container block train was launched through the joint efforts of companies TFC “Navigator LOGISTIC” LLC, which is responsible for the commercial operation of train; “Navigator FORWARDING” LLC, which is the operator of container block train; “Ust-Luga Container Terminal” JSC and “Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga” MTC “Yug-2”, terminals, processing container train in Ust-Luga; “Freight Village Vorsino” terminal that handles container train in Moscow; and “TransContainer” JSC, the owner of the rolling stock.

The route “port of Ust-Luga – Moscow” has great potential because of growing popularity of modern and rapidly developing port of Ust-Luga. It’s confirmed by results of the service. For 2 years of work, Container Block Train “Ust-Luga Express” has done 195 voyages and carried more than 6,000 TEU.
