According to the latest figures, loading on the network of Russian Railways in January 2018 amounted to 103.5 million tons, 3.5% more than in the same month last year, say press-center of the company.

31 mln tons of coal (-1.1%);
20.7 mln tons of oil and petroleum products (-2.5%);
9.2 mln tons of iron and manganese ores (+ 4.3%);
8.8 mln tons of construction materials (+ 13.3%);
6.6 mln tons of ferrous metals (+ 10.5%);
5.2 mln tons of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+ 6.3%);
3.4 mln tons of timber (+ 5.8%);
2.8 mln tons of industrial raw materials and moulded materials (+ 5.6%);
2.4 mln tons of chemicals and soda (+ 2.7%);
2.2 mln tons of grain (+ 36.6%);
1.6 mln tons of non-ferrous ores and sulphuric raw materials (unchanged);
1.2 mln tons of cement (+ 6.2%);
0.903 mln tons of coke (-3.8%);
0.659 mln tons of ferrous metal scrap (-17.8%).
Freight turnover in January 2018 amounted to 214.8 bln tariff ton-km (+5.6%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs – 273.8 bln. ton-km (+4.4%).
Transportation of container on the network belonging Russian Railways increased by 11.3% to 317.5 thou TEU which is 2.9 mln. ton by weight (+9.9% y-o-y), including:
134.5 thou TEU is domestic container shipments (+5.9%);
85.5 thou TEU – export (+11.2%);
63.2 thou TEU – import (+14%);
34.3 thou TEU – transit (+32.1%).
Shipments of loaded containers on all types of routes increased by 12% in January 2018 compared to January 2017 and amounted to 200,8 thou TEU, including the following freight categories. Figures in brackets show the change compared to January 2017.
36 thou TEU of chemicals and soda (+6.8%);
24.7 thou TEU of paper (+8.1%);
22.8 thou TEU of timber (+28.1%);
20.8 thou TEU of industrial goods (+13.9%);
17 thou TEU of fabricated metal products (+21.1%);
14.7 thou TEU of cars (+13.9%);
12.9 thou TEU of machines, machine tools, engines (+31.3%);
8.8 thou TEU of non-ferrous metals (+3.7%);
8.4 thou TEU of ferrous metals (+12.5%);
4 thou TEU of construction materials (unchanged);
5.4 thou TEU of miscellaneous items and assemblies (+8.8%);
5.5 thou TEU of chemical and mineral fertilizers (+4.9%).
During the January 2018 on the infrastructure of Russian Railways were transported 80.4 mln Passengers (+3.8% y-o-y), of which: suburban passenger numbers – 72.2 mln (+3.4%), long-distance passengers – 8.2 mln(+6.9%).
