In January – February 2017, Russian seaports handled 114.8 mln t of cargo (+8.2%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 49.2 mln t (+7.6%) including:
20.9 mln t of coal (+15.2%),
6.9 mln t of containerized cargo (+9%),
4.5 mln t of ferrous metal (+2.5%),
4.5 mln t of grain (+1.2%),
2.7 mln t of chemical fertilizers (+7.2%),
0.5 mln t refer cargo (+13.2%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargoes increased by 8.7% to 65.6 mln t including
38.4 mln t of crude oil (+8%),
24 mln t of oil products (+8.3%),
2.5 mln t of liquefied gas (+27.1%).
Transshipment of export cargoes totaled 90.5 mln t (+5.3%), import cargoes – 5.2 mln t (+15.7%), transit cargoes – 8.5 mln t (+4.5%), coastal freight cargoes – 10.6 mln t (+41.6%).
Total container throughput of Russian seaports in January-February of 2017 increased by 8.6% year-on-year to 668.3 thou TEU, including laden export 174.3 thou TEU (+12.8%), empty export – 105.1 thou TEU (+1.9%), import — 292.1 thou TEU (+10.1%), transit — 6.1 thou TEU (-14.8%), coasting — 90.7 thou TEU (+6.5 %).
Basin specification:
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 8.9 mln t of cargo (+41.8%, year-on-year) including 3.7 mln t of dry cargo (-0.9%) and 5.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (up 2.1 times). The port of Murmansk handled 6 mln t (up 1.5 times), Varandei – 1.4 mln t (+16%), Arkhangelsk – 0.32 mln t (-44.8%). Container throughput of ports of Arctic Basin in reporting period down 15.5% to 21.05 thou TEU, including laden export – 29 TEU (-82%), import – 27 TEU (-94.7%), coasting – 20.99 thou TEU (-13.4%). Container turnover in port of Murmansk in January – February 2017 amounted 7.2 thou TEU (-14.9%), Dudinka – 8.6 thou TEU (-24.6%), Arkhangelsk – 5.3 thou TEU (+5.1%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 40.1 mln t (+9.2%) including 14.7 mln t of dry cargo (+15.6%) and 25.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+5.9%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 15.7 mln t (+9.1%), Primorsk – 10.9 mln t (+5.5%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 8 mln t (+7%), Vysotsk – 3.2 mln t (+42.1%), Kaliningrad – 2.01 mln t (the same), Viborg – 0.166 mln t (+26%). The container turnover in ports of Baltic Basin increased by 3.3% to 335.96 thou TEU, including laden export – 111.1 thou TEU (+8.5%), empty export – 49.6 thou TEU (-11.4%), import – 175.2 thou TEU (+5.1%). Container throughput of Big Port St. Petersburg up 5.2% to 292.2 thou TEU, port of Ust-Luga – 13.9 thou TEU (-3.7%), Kaliningrad – 29.9 thou TEU (-9.7%).
Throughput of cargoes in port of Azov – Black Sea basin amounted 36.4 mln t (+3.6%) including 13.9 mln t of dry cargo (+2.9%) and 22.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+4.1%). Increased the volume of cargo handling operators of Tuapse – 4.4 mln t (+15.3%), Kavkaz – 2.9 mln t (+8%), Taman – 2.4 mln t (+22.8%), Rostov-on-Don – 1.4 mln t (+5.1%), Kerch – 1.2 mln t (+17.6%), Azov – 0.738 mln t (+1.2%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 21.9 mln t which remained at the level of last year. Container turnover in ports of Azov – Black Sea basin amounted 109.4 thou TEU (+6.7%), including laden export – 29.4 thou TEU (+6.6%), empty export – 24.7 thou TEU (+4.6%), import – 54 thou TEU (+8.9), transit – 81 TEU (+76.1%), coasting trade – 1.3 thou TEU (-26.8%). Container throughput of port of Novorossiysk amounted 107.4 thou TEU (+6.9%), Azof – 1.3 thou TEU (up 2.1 times), Sevastopol port – 668 TEU (-22%)
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 0.5 mln t of cargoes (down 2.1 times) including 0.4 mln t dry cargoes (-31.6%) and 0.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargoes (down 4.3 times). Throughput of port of Makhachkala down 4.7 times to 0.1 mln t, Astrakhan to 0.4 mln t (-24.6%). But Olya port shows a positive trend – 21.7 thou t (+1.7%). Container throughput of the Caspian Basin amounted 465 TEU (+7.4%), including laden export – 171 TEU (+64.4%), empty export – 16 TEU (-83.5%), import – 181 TEU (+7.1%), coasting trade – 97 TEU (+54%). The Astrakhan ports container throught increased by 11% to 465 TEU.
The ports of Far East Basin amounted 28.9 mln t (+7.8%) including 16.3 mln t of dry cargoes (+8.7%) and 12.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+6.5%). Port Vostochny handled 10.6 mln t (+6%), Vanino – 4.3 mln t (+0.5%), Nakhodka – 3.7 mln t (+1.1%), Prigorodnoye – 3.2 mln t (+29.9%), Vladivostok – 2.4 mln t (+21.9%), De-Castri – 1.9 mln t (+0.9%). The Far East Basin ports container thoughput increased by 24.2% to 201.3 thou TEU, including laden export – 33.6 thou TEU (+38.7%), empty export – 30.8 thou TEU (+31.5%), import – 62.6 thou TEU (+29.8%), transit – 6 thou TEU (-15.4%), coasting trade – 68.3 thou TEU (+15.6%). Container turnover of port of Vladivostok in reporting period amounted 112 thou TEU (+29.6%), Port Vostochny – 52.7 thou TEU (+18.4%), Korsakov port – 18.4 thou TEU (+26.1%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
