In January – October 2017, Russian seaports handled 649.5 mln t of cargo (+9.3%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 306.5 mln t (+10.4%) including:
129.1 mln t of coal (+13.8%),
39.7 mln t of containerized cargo (+13%),
37 mln t of grain (+31.3%),
23.1 mln t of ferrous metal (-2.3%),
14.3 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+8.8%),
2.5 mln t refrigerated cargo (+2.5%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 8.3% to 343 mln t including:
210.7 mln t of crude oil (+12.6%),
116.8 mln t of oil products (+1.2%),
11.8 mln t of liquefied gas (+7.2%).
Export totaled cargo handled 500.6 mln t (+6.9%), imports – 29.6 mln t (+14%), transit – 47.7 mln t (+15.4%), short-sea shipping – 71.4 mln t (+21.9%).
Total container turnover of Russian seaports for 10 month of 2017 increased by 16.2% year-on-year to 3.8 mln TEU, including imports — 1.61 mln TEU (+17.9%), loading export – 962.9 thou TEU (+10.2%), empty export – 614.4 thou TEU (+29.3), short-sea traffic — 567.7 thou TEU (+9.2%), transit — 53.9 thou TEU (+23.5%).
Basin specification from January to October 2017:
In reporting period the operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 60.9 mln t of cargo (+52.2%, year-on-year) including 36.7 mln t of liquid bilk cargo (up in 1.04 times) and 24.2 mln t of dry cargo (+9.6%). Throughput of port of Murmansk amounted 42.6 mln t (+60.1%), Varandei – 7.06 mln t (+5.4%), Sabetta – 5.99 mln t (up in 3 times), Arkhangelsk – 1.98 mln t (-15.1%), Dudinka – 1.03 mln t (+4.6%), Kandalaksha – 1.3 mln t (up in 2.2 times).
Container turnover in ports of Arctic Basin down 0.4% to 124.08 thou TEU, from which is the main part it’s a short-sea shipping – 120.72 thou TEU (+3.9%), loading export – 603 TEU (+12.7%), empty export – 474 TEU (-85.9%), import – 2.29 thou TEU (-49.7%).
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 205.4 mln t (+4.9%) including 85.9 mln t of dry cargo (+16.2%) and 119.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-1.9%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 85 mln t (+10.8%), Primorsk – 49.4 mln t (-8.6%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 44 mln t (+10%), Vysotsk – 14.4 mln t (+2%).
The container turnover in ports of Baltic Basin increased by 11% to 1.86 mln TEU, including loaded export – 608.64 thou TEU (+6.2%), empty export – 305.84 thou TEU (+25.4%), import – 946.42 thou TEU (+10.3%). Container turnover of Big Port St. Petersburg up 10% to 1.59 mln TEU, port of Ust-Luga – 63 thou TEU (-8%), Kaliningrad – 205.42 thou TEU (+9.7%).
In reporting period the seaports of Azov – Black Sea Basin including port of Crimea and stevedores of Sevastopol handled 219.3 mln t (+9.8) including 95.3 mln t of dry cargo (+10%) and 124 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+9.5%). Increased the volume of cargo handling operators of port of Novorossiysk to 120.2 mln t (+11.7%), Tuapse – 21.8 mln t (+6.1%), Kavkaz – 29 mln t (+7.1%), Taman – 12.2 mln t (+13.7%), Rostov-on-Don – 11.8 mln t (+9.4%), Azov – 6.6 mln t (+21.5%), Taganrog – 2.41 mln (+26.9%). Container turnover in ports of Azov – Black Sea basin amounted 599.25 thou TEU (+17.9%), including loading export – 171.53 thou TEU (+11.9%), empty export – 126.81 thou TEU (+22.4%), import – 288.17 thou TEU (+20%), short-sea shipping – 11.94 thou TEU (+7.7%), transit – 790 TEU (up to 3 times). Container turnover in port of Novorossiysk up to 586.3 thou TEU (+18.2%), Azov – 6.3 thou TEU (+27.2%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 3.1 mln t of cargo (-35.3) including 2.2 mln t of dry cargo (-9.8%) and 0.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-61.4%). Throughput of port of Makhachkala down 58.3% to 1.1 mln t, Astrakhan to 1.8 mln t (-9.1%), Olya port – 195 thou t (+25%).
Container turnover of the Caspian Basin up 6.7% to 1.81 thou TEU, including loading export – 668 TEU (+27.5), empty export – 93 TEU (-57.7%), import – 735 TEU (+8.7%), short-sea shipping – 315 TEU (+13.7%).
The ports of Far East Basin up to 160.7 mln t (+4.4%) including 98.8 mln t of dry cargoes (+6.7%) and 61.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+1%). Port Vostochny handled 57.7 mln t (+1.4%), Vanino – 24.7 mln t (-0.9%), Nakhodka – 20.2 mln t (+3.8%), Prigorodnoye – 14.1 mln t (+6.7%), Vladivostok – 14 mln t (+18.7%), De-Castri – 9.2 mln t (-3.5%), Posiet – 6.7 mln t (-5.1%).
The Far East Basin ports container throughput in reporting period increased by 26.2% to 1.22 mln TEU, including loading export – 181.45 thou TEU (+24.2%), empty export – 181.19 thou TEU (45.8%), import – 374.28 thou TEU (+41.7%), transit – 53.16 thou TEU (+22.4%), short-sea shipping – 434.7 thou TEU (+10.8%).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
