In January-November 2016, Russian seaports handled 657.7 mln t of cargo (+6.4%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled 306.7 mln t (+7.9%) including:
124.6 mln t of coal (+11.1%),
38.9 mln t of containerized cargo (+6.6%),
26 mln t of ferrous metal (+6.7%),
32.2 mln t of grain (+4.6%),
20.8 mln t of cargo carried by ferries (+4.7%),
7.9 mln t of ore (+ 27.3%),
5 mln t of timber (+2.9%),
4.1 mln t of ro-ro cargo (up 1.8 times),
14.6 mln t of chemical fertilizers (+0.4%),
3.7 mln t of scrap-metal (-1.9%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 5.2% to 351 mln t including
207.5 mln t of crude oil (+12.2%),
127.8 mln t of oil products (-4.4%)
12.3 mln t of liquefied gas (+5%).
Transshipment of export cargo totaled 517.4 mln t (+5.3%), import – 28.8 mln t (-5.5%), transit – 46.1 mln t (+5%), coastal trade cargo – 65.4 mln t (+25.6%).
Total container turnover in Russian seaports in January – November of 2016 increased by 1% year-on-year to 3.63 mln TEU, including total export 1.49 mln TEU (-0.9%), import — 1,52 mln TEU (+1,6%), transit — 45.17 thou TEU (-29.1%), cabotage — 582.45 thou TEU (+8.1 %).
Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 44.6 mln t of cargo (+37.4%, year-on-year) including 24.2 mln t of dry cargo (+6.1%) and 20.4 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (up 2.1 times). The port of Murmansk handled 29.8 mln t (+48%), Varandei – 7.3 mln t (+22.7%), Dudinka – 1.1 mln t (+1.2%), Arkhangelsk – 2.5 mln t (-31.5%), Kandalaksha – 0.7 mln t (-9.5%). Container turnover in ports of Arctic Basin in reporting period up 11.8% to 140.05 thou TEU.
The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 215.5 mln t (+2.2%) including 81.4 mln t of dry cargo (+1.8%) and 134.1 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.5%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 85.1 mln t (+5.7%), Primorsk – 59 mln t (+8.7%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 44 mln t (-6.6%), Vysotsk – 15.6 mln t (-2.3%), Kaliningrad – 10.6 mln t (-8.3%), Viborg – 1.2 mln t (-11.9%). The container throughput in ports of Baltic Basin increased by 1.6% to 1.84 mln TEU.
Throughput of Azov – Black Sea ports climbed to 222.7 mln t (+4.9%) including 96.7 mln t of dry cargo (+8.5%) and 126 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.2%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 119.7 mln t (+3%), Kavkaz – 30.7 mln t (+7.15%), Taman – 12 mln t (+12.1%), Rostov-on-Don – 12 mln t (+14.5%), Kerch – 8.8 mln t (+28%), Yeisk – 3.9 mln t (+12.4%), Temryuk – 2.6 mln t (+14%). Decreased throughput in ports of Tuapse – 22.9 mln t (-1.2%), Azov – 6 mln t (-4.4%), Taganrog – 2.1 mln t (-17.8%). Container turnover in the ports of Azov – Black Sea amounted 560.66 thou TEU (+3.4%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 5.5 mln t of cargo (-11.2%) including 2.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-20.8%) and 2.8 mln t of dry cargo (+0.2%). The port of Makhachkala handled 3 mln t (-15.9%), Astrakhan – 2.3 mln t (-4.3%), Olya – down 10.9%. Container throughput fell by 21.4% to 2.02 thou TEU.
The ports of Far East Basin handled 169.4 mln t (+8.6%) including 101.6 mln t of dry cargo (+13.3%) and 67.8 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+2.2%). Port Vostochny handled 62.6 mln t (+5.4%), Vanino – 27 mln t (+11.9%), Nakhodka – 21.2 mln t (+9.5%), Prigorodnoye – 14.9 mln t (+2.2%), Vladivostok – 13.1 mln t (+11%), De-Castri – 10.6 mln t (+11.5%), Posiet –7.4 mln t (+27.7%). Container thoughput in the ports of far East Basin fell by 2.5% to 1.09 mln TEU.
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
