Russian Railways Logistics branch in Saint Petersburg has delivered over 35 thousand tons of crushed stone for construction of M-11 Narva Highway segment linking the port of Ust-Luga
RZDL transported construction material from the quarry of Lafarge Russia Aggregate&Concrete in the Republic of Karelia. RZD Logistics services varied from transportation of materials to OJSC «Timber Terminal «Factor» site in Ust-Luga to cargo transshipment and last mile forwarding to the construction site.
There is necessary rail infrastructure for construction materials receiving and handling on the territory of Timber Terminal «Factor», where up to 20 open wagons may be handled simultaneously.
Crushed stone handling is carried out on specialized sites with 24-hour road transport access. Russian Railways Logistics coordinated all participated parties, which lead to uninterrupted delivery of materials by efficient use of available resources both for direct transshipment of cargo into trucks and loading from the site.
