Loading data review on Russian Railways network in Jan-Nov 2017

According to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways for 11 month of 2017 loaded 1.151 bn t of freight, which is 3% more than in the same period last year, including 105.7 mln t (+3.5%) which is loaded in November.

Freight turnover since the beginning of the year amounted 2.27 trln tariff ton-km (+6.5%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 2.89 trln tariff ton-km (+6.1%).
For November 2017 freight turnover amounted 210.8 bn tariff ton-km (+5.7%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 268.9 bn ton-km (+5.3%).

In Jan-Nov’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:
325.9 mln t of coal (+9%, y-o-y);
214.2 mln t of crude and oil products (-0.1);
123.5 mln t of construction materials (-6.8%);
100.7 mln t of iron and manganese ores (+0.2%);
65.8 mln t of ferrous metal (+1.8%);
51.9 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+7%);
39.6 mln t of timber (+2.8%);
33.6 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+4%);
25.4 mln t of cement (+0.2%);
23.8 mln t of chemicals and soda (+2%);
19.6 mln t of grain (+15.7%);
18.6 mln t of non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-4.5%);
14.4 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+4.5%);
10.2 mln t of coke (-4.6%).

For 11 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railways carried 1.03 bn passengers (+8.1% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 930.3 mln (+8.9%), long-distance passengers – 94.4 mln (+0.2%). For November Russian Railway’s network carried 91.25 mln passengers (+3.2%), which of suburban – 83.65 mln passengers (+3.3%), long-distance – 7.6 mln (+2.7%).

Passenger turnover since the beginning of the 2017 amounted 114 bn passenger-km (-1.8% y-o-y), which of for November – 8.5 bn passenger-km (+0.1%).
