According to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways loaded 516,9 mln t. of freight in January – May 2017 which is 3,8% more than in the same period last year.
In Jan-May’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:
149,9 mln t of coal (+9,4%, y-o-y);
4,7 mln t of coke (+1,3%);
99 mln t of crude and oil products (+1,3%);
45,2 mln t of iron and manganese ores (-1,1%);
29,8 mln t of ferrous metal (-0,4%);
5,6 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+7,4%);
23,8 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+7%);
9,6 mln t of cement (-1,5%);
19,1 mln t of timber (+4,3%);
8,1 mln t of grain (+6,2%);
52,6 mln t of construction materials (-4,4%);
8,5 mln t of non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-1,4%);
11 mln t of chemicals and soda (+2,4%);
14,6 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+14,3%).
In Jan–May’17, freight turnover increased compared to the same period 2016 by 7,4% and amounted to 1022,6 bn tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 1306,8 bn ton-km (+7,1%).
In May 2017, Russian Railways network loaded 106,5 mln t of freight (+3,5% y-o-y). Freight turnover in May 2017, amounted 209,3 bn tariff ton-km (+7%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 265,9 bn ton-km(+6,5%).
Container turnover on Russian Railways network in January-May amounted 1,52 mln TEU (+20,4% y-o-y), which is in weight terms amounted 15,87 mln ton (+19%). Including:
Loaded containers – 998,63 thou TEU (+24,7%), which of them
in export direction – 339,91 thou TEU (+16,6%),
in domestic traffic – 344,71 thou TEU (+8,1%),
in import direction – 194,67 thou TEU (+54,4%),
in transit – 119,34 thou TEU (+85,5%);
Empty containers – 525,53 thou TEU (+12,9%), which of them
in domestic traffic – 369,98 thou TEU (+7%),
in import direction – 80,14 thou TEU (+15,3%),
in export direction – 50,25 thou TEU (+52,3%),
in transit – 25,16 thou TEU (+46,7%).
For 5 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railays carried 43,4 mln passengers (+9,7% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 394,8 mln (+10,6%), long-distance passengers – 35,6 mln (+0,3%). For May Russian Railway’s network carried 96,8 mln passengers (+7,9%), which of suburban – 88,74 mln passengers (+8,6%), long-distance – 8,07 mln (+0,6%).
Passenger turnover since the beginning of the 2017 amounted 40,8 bln passenger-km (-0,6% y-o-y), which of for May – 9,5 bln passenger-km (the same data of the previous year).
