Loading data on Russian Railways network in January – April 2017

According to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways loaded 410,4 mln t. of freight in January – April 2017 which is 3,8% more than in the same period last year.

In Jan-Apr’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:
119,9 mln t of coal (+9,2%, y-o-y);
3,7 mln t of coke (+3,5%);
80,5 mln t of crude and oil products (+1%);
35,6 mln t of iron and manganese ores (-0,6%);
23,9 mln t of ferrous metal (+0,1%);
4,1 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+11,9%);
19 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers  (+5,7%);
6,9 mln t of cement (-1,4%);
15 mln t of timber (+3,7%);
6,7 mln t of grain (+1,8%);
40 mln t of construction materials (-3,7%);
6,7 mln t of  non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-0,5%);
8,9 mln t of chemicals and soda (+2,7%);
11 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+14,1%).

In Jan–Apr’17, freight turnover increased compared to the same period 2016 by 7,5% and amounted to 813 bn tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 1040,8 bn ton-km (+7,2%).

In April 2017, Russian Railways network loaded 105,3 mln t of freight (+3,9% y-o-y). Freight turnover in April 2017, amounted 205 bn tariff ton-km (+8%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 261,2 bn ton-km(+7,4%).

For 4 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railays carried 333,9 mln passengers (+10,3% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 306,3 mln (+11,3%), long-distance passengers – 27,6 mln (+0,4%). For April Russian Railway’s network carried 89,8 mln passengers (+9,2%), which of suburban – 82,52 mln passengers (+9,8%), long-distance – 7,23 mln (+2,9%).

Passenger turnover since the beginning of the 2017 amounted 31,3 bln passenger-km (-0,3% y-o-y), which of for April – 8,2 bln passenger-km (the same data of the previous year).
