Loading data review on Russian Railways network in Jan-Jul 2017

According to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways for 7 month of 2017 loaded 727.3 mln t of freight, which is 3.3% more than in the same period last year, including 106.6 mln t (+2.2%) which is loaded in July.

Freight turnover since the beginning of the year amounted 1.4 trn tariff ton-km (+7.1%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 1.8 trn ton-km (+6.7%).
In July 2017 freight turnover amounted 208 bn tariff ton-km (+5.1%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 264.4 bn ton-km (+5%).

In Jan-July’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:
206.1 mln t of coal (+9.8%, y-o-y);
6.5 mln t of coke (-1.6%);
137.5 mln t of crude and oil products (+0.7%);
63.8 mln t of iron and manganese ores (-0.2%);
41.3 mln t of ferrous metal (-0.4%);
8.5 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+2.4%);
33.2 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+8.5%);
15.4 mln t of cement (-1.7%);
26.5 mln t of timber (+3.9%);
10.5 mln t of grain (+10.1%);
77.7 mln t of construction materials (-6.7%);
12 mln t of non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-2.3%);
15.2 mln t of chemicals and soda (+2.2%);
21.5 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+11.6%).

For 7 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railways carried 632.3 mln passengers (+9.2% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 574.4 mln (+10.2%), long-distance passengers – 57.9 mln (-0.3%). For July Russian Railway’s network carried 102.3 mln passengers (+7.4%), which of suburban – 89.7 mln passengers (+8.6%), long-distance – 12.6 mln (-0.2%).
Passenger turnover since the beginning of the 2017 amounted 69 bn passenger-km (-1,8% y-o-y), which of for July – 16 bn passenger-km (-3.2%).
