Total cargo turnover of Russian seaports in 2015In 2015, Russian seaports handled 676.7 mln t of cargo (+5.7%, year-on-year), says the press center of Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

Transshipment of dry bulk cargo totaled  312.2 mln t (+5.3%) including 123.2 mln t of coal (+6.0%), 34.4 mln t of grain (+15.1%), 26.2 mln t of ferrous metal (+12.2%), 21.6 mln t of cargo carried by ferries (up 1.9 times), 16.0 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+8.8%), 6.7 mln t of ore (+10.8%), 5.3 mln t of forest cargo (+10.7%) and 3.5 mln t of non-ferrous metal (+10.7%). Transshipment of containerized cargo fell to 40.1 mln t (-14.4%), metal scrap – 4.2 mln t (-8.8%) and reefer cargo – 3.2 mln t (-11.4%).

Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 364.5 mln t (+6.0%) including 202.1 mln t of crude oil (+8.0%), 146.0 mln t of oil products (+3.7%) and 12.9 mln t of liquefied gas (+5.1%).

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 539.1 mln t (+ 7.7%), import – 33.3 mln t (-23.3%), transit – 48.2 mln t (+1.2%), coastal trade cargo 56.1 mln t (+15.6%).

Operators of the Arctic Basin terminals handled 35.4 mln t (+1.0%, year-on-year) including 24.9 mln t of dry cargo (-1.2%) and 10.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+6.8%). The port of Murmansk handled 22.0 mln t (+1.1%), Varandei – 6.6 mln t (+12.0%), Dudinka – 1.2 mln t (+11.8%), Arkhangelsk – 3.8 mln t (-10.0%).

The ports of the Baltic Basin handled 230.7 mln t (+3.2%) including 87.8 mln t of dry cargo (-2.2%) and 142.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+6.9%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 87.9 mln t (+16.1%), Primorsk – 59.6 mln t (+11.1%), Big Port St. Petersburg – 51.1 mln t (-15.8%), Kaliningrad – 12.7 mln t (-8.6%), Vysotsk – 17.5 mln t (+0.3%)

Throughput of Azov – Black Sea ports climbed to  232.9 mln t (+10.2%) including 98.4 mln t of dry cargo (+21.4%) and 134.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+3.2%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 127.1 mln t (+4.5%), Kavkaz – 30.5 mln t (+14.9%), Tuapse – 25.2 mln t (+13.9%), Taman – 12.3 mln t (+20.8%), Rostov – 11.6 mln t (+12.1%), Azov – 7.1 mln t (+5.2%), Taganrog – 2.9 mln t (+2.0%), Temryuk – 2.5 mln t (+23.0%), Yeisk – 3.9 mln t (-2.8%). Seaports of Crimea  handled 9.6 mln t including 7.8 mln t handled in Kerch.

The ports of the Caspian Basin handled  6.7 mln t (-15.8%) including 3.1 mln t of dry cargo (-13.0%) and 3.6 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-18.0%). The port of Makhachkala handled 3.8 mln t (-22.6%), Astrakhan – 2.6 mln t (-3.0%). The of port Olya fell by 18.7%.

The ports of Far East Basin handled  171.0 mln t (+5.2%) including 98.0 mln t of dry cargo (+1.0%) and 73.0 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+11.3%). Port Vostochny handled 65.2 mln t (+12.8%), Vanino – 26.8 mln t (+2.3%), Nakhodka – 21.3 mln t (+2.5%), De-Castri – 10.5 mln t (+27.6%), Sjakhtersk – 3.7 mln t (+31.6%), Vladivostok – 12.9 mln t (-15.9%), Posiet – 6.5 mln t (-2.8%), Prigorodnoye – 16.0 mln t (-0.4%).

Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
