On the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, Bolshoi Kamen is being considered as a territory which can be included into the list of Priority Development Areas, press center of the Primorsk Territory authorities says.
The status of a closed territory was taken off Bolshoi Kamen, where shipbuilding center Zvezda is being created now, in January 2015, according to the Decree of RF President Vladimir Putin and now the city can be included into PDA list.
The statement also says the personnel of Zvezda is supposed to contain 60% of the locals with the rest of employees to be attracted from other regions. At the initial phase, they will be invited from Germany and S.Korea to train the personnel of the shipyard.
Shipbuilding comlex Zvezda is being created in Bolshoi Kamen within the framework of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center. The first phase is to be completed in 2016, the second and the third – in 2018. The production is to be launched in the first quarter of 2016. The complex is supposed to build vessels for the development of hydrocarbon fields on the Arctic shelf.
