Transportation of oversized, dangerous, excise and project cargo

Individual approach to non — standard cargo

Individual approach to non — standard cargo

“Navigator Logistics” specializing in consolidated cargo transportation, is also a multimodal operator. This means that we are ready to undertake complex transportation, using different types of transport at different stages of delivery:

  • automobile,
  • marine,
  • railway,
  • aviation.

In addition to the transport of standard goods, we provide delivery:

  • oversized,
  • heavyweight
  • dangerous goods
  • excise,
  • projectand
  • cargo that requires a certain temperature.

Transportation of oversized cargoes, as well as transportation of other non-standart cargo requires a special approach

In particular, obtaining special permission to move it. Especially a lot of problems arise when moving non-standard cargo by several types of transport, since each of them has its own standard size and weight of cargo.

The technical conditions for placing and securing cargo in wagons and containers approved by the Ministry of Railways of the Russian Federation determine the outlines of loading dimensions, above which at least in one dimension the cargo is considered oversized.

For road transportation, the defying document is the “Instruction for the transport of large-sized and heavy cargo by road”, approved by three departments: the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Automobile and Highway Service.

The limit parameters of standard loads are fixed in it:

  • length – 22 m,
  • width – 2.55 m,
  • height – 4 m.

Exceeding any of the parameters puts the load in the oversized category. For heavyweight include those goods, the total mass of which, together with the transport exceeds 40 tons.

In aviation, the limiting dimensions and weight of cargo are determined for each specific brand of aircraft.

When transporting such goods both by land and by sea, special equipment is often required:

  • special railway platforms,
  • low loaders,
  • vehicles from which long road trains to be set.

For sea transportation of heavy or oversized cargoes, it is sometimes necessary to engage specialized, for example, semi-flooded vessels, vessels with a horizontal loading method (Ro-Ro) or vessels with high jib of a crane capacity (cranes).

In addition to loading, moving and unloading cargo, it is almost always necessary to solve a number of related tasks:

  • escort, ensuring the safety of not only the goods, but also other road users;
  • roadcompactionandexpansion;
  • changing the height of the suspension lines and more.

Similar problems arise in the transport of dangerous goods, which include goods that can cause harm to the environment or human health, for example, toxic chemicals or toxic components of chemical plants. In this case, the safety requirements of transportation come to the fore.

Our specialists will competently carry out all the necessary preparatory and direct transport processes:

  • determine the parameters of the cargo and choose the method of loading and unloading;
  • we will select a vehicle that will correspond to the overall weight characteristics of the cargo;
  • prepare a scheme of reliable fastening;
  • choose the best route to ensure safety, reliability and timely delivery at a reasonable price;
  • prepare documentation on route coordination with the relevant services (traffic police, Ministry of Railways, police department, etc.);
  • we will issue all necessary permissions;
  • organize and control loading and unloading;
  • insureyourshipment.

TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS

Hazardous cargoes are considered to be dangerous for the environment or human health, for example, toxic chemicals or toxic components of chemical plants. In this case, the safety requirements of transportation come to the fore.

The organization of the transport of dangerous goods includes:

  • selection of a vehicle corresponding to the characteristics of the goods;
  • selection of the optimal route to ensure safety, reliability and timely delivery at a reasonable price;
  • preparation of documentation on the coordination of the route with the relevant services (traffic police, Ministry of Railways, police department, etc.);
  • registration of all necessary permits;
  • organization and control of loading and unloading operations;
  • cargoinsurance.
