Loading data review on Russian Railways network in Jan-Sep 2017

According to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways for 9 month of 2017 loaded 937.2 mln t of freight, which is 2.8% more than in the same period last year, including 103.8 mln t (+1.8%) which is loaded in September.

Freight turnover since the beginning of the year amounted 1.84 trln tariff ton-km (+6.6%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 2.35 trln ton-km (+6.3%).
For September 2017 freight turnover amounted 203.3 bn tariff ton-km (+4.2%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 258.8 bn ton-km (+4.2%).

In Jan-Sep’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:

262.96 mln t of coal (+9.3%, y-o-y);
175.2 mln t of crude and oil products (+0.2);
101.9 mln t of construction materials (-8.3%);
82.4 mln t of iron and manganese ores (-0.2%);
53.5 mln t of ferrous metal (+1.2%);
42.5 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+7.9%);
33.4 mln t of timber (+3.8%);
27.4 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+5.6%);
21.2 mln t of cement (-0.7%);
19.3 mln t of chemicals and soda (+2.1%);
15.3 mln t of non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-4.9%);
14.6 mln t of grain (+12.3%);
11.5 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+4.1%);
8.4 mln t of coke (-3.6%).

For 9 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railways carried 834.8 mln passengers (+9% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 755.9 mln (+10.1%), long-distance passengers – 78.8 mln (-0.5%). For September Russian Railway’s network carried 98.6 mln passengers (+6.1%), which of suburban – 90.1 mln passengers (+6.68%), long-distance – 8.5 mln (+0.5%).
Passenger turnover since the beginning of the 2017 amounted 96.1 bn passenger-km (-2.3% y-o-y), which of for September – 10.9 bn passenger-km (-2.8%).
