Loading data review on Russian Railways network in Jan-Oct 2017

According to the figures, published on the company’s website, the network owned by Russian Railways for 10 month of 2017 loaded 1.45 bn t of freight, which is 3% more than in the same period last year, including 108.1 mln t (+4.6%) which is loaded in October.

Freight turnover since the beginning of the year amounted 2.06 trln tariff ton-km (+6.5%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 2.62 trln tariff ton-km (+6.2%).
For October 2017 freight turnover amounted 214.8 bn tariff ton-km (+5.9%), freight turnover taking into account empty wagon runs amounted 273.8 bn ton-km (+5.3%).

In Jan-Oct’17, Russian Railways loaded the following freight:
294.2 mln t of coal (+9.6%, y-o-y);
194.4 mln t of crude and oil products (+0.1);
113.5 mln t of construction materials (-7.8%);
91.3 mln t of iron and manganese ores (-0.2%);
59.7 mln t of ferrous metal (+2%);
47.3 mln t of chemical and mineral fertilisers (+7.9%);
36.7 mln t of timber (+4.1%);
30.6 mln t of industrial raw materials and molding materials (+5.2%);
23.6 mln t of cement (-0.2%);
21.5 mln t of chemicals and soda (+2.6%);
17.1 mln t of grain (+14.5%);
17 mln t of non-ferrous ores and sulphur feedstock (-5.1%);
13.1 mln t of ferrous metal scrap (+3.9%);
9.3 mln t of coke (-4.3%).

For 10 month of 2017, the infrastructure owned by Russian Railways carried 932.9 mln passengers (+8.5% y-o-y), which of suburban passengers – 846.1 mln (+9.4%), long-distance passengers – 86.8 mln (+0.1%). For October Russian Railway’s network carried 97.8 mln passengers (+3.9%), which of suburban – 89.96 mln passengers (+3.8%), long-distance – 7.9 mln (+5%).

Passenger turnover since the beginning of the 2017 amounted 105.5 bn passenger-km (-2% y-o-y), which of for October – 9.23 bn passenger-km (+0.7%).
